If you are interested in spring bear hunts, we have been 100% shooting on bears for a few years now. We run about 50% color phase bears, 50% black. We have lodge bear hunting, wall tent bear hunting, and backpacking bear hunting. We hunt over baits but take about half the bears spot and stalk. Our spring bears are mountain bears and don't tend to be real heavy but we do get some book heads. The Spring Season runs April 1- June 30th in several of the areas we spring bear hunt. We can also offer a fall hunt in Mid October. We have several hunt packages to choose from, with varying experiences. The price is $3000 per hunter on a 2x1 or $3500 for a 1x1 (depending on the hunt you could be the only hunter in camp). For non hunters it is $100 per day. These are high success hunts that include a great backcountry experience. We generally spend mornings and afternoons hiking, baiting, and glassing for bears and the evenings over baits, but our strategies may change according to bear activity. Backpack Spring Bear Hunt
This spring bear hunting not for the faint of heart. For this bear hunt you will have to be in excellent physical shape. This is a backpack hunt . You will be sleeping in a backpacking tent, on a pad, on the ground, as well as eating freeze dried backpacking food. This is a no frills, high success adventure that allows us to get back into some of the areas that never see hunters and to target bears that have grown old with very little if any human contact. This is an affordable way to experience a rough country “sheep” style of hunt. This bear hunt is in a 2 bear area.
Economy Bear Hunt
Elk Springs Outfitters also offer an economy hunt for bear. This bear hunt is offered the first part of September. Basically this is a do-it-yourself bear hunt with the full use of our fall wall tent camp. Elk Springs Outfitters will pack you into and out of the camp. Elk Springs Outfitters will have baits already set, but you would be required to check and re-bait. You would bring your own food and cook in our complete kitchen tent. You would need to be able to skin your own bear and pack him back to camp.
